I have a vegetable garden next to the property fence. The rain water from slightly higher neighbor’s property?

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

I have a vegetable garden next to the property fence. The rain water from slightly higher neighbor’s property comes to my vegetable garden. This water is contaminated with stools and urine of cat and dog. What is the potential risk of any disease transmission from a disease carrying/infected cat/dog’ fecal matter or urine entering the soil and the roots of vegetable grown in such environment?

        Good plants for indoor produce?

        Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

I have a 250W hid ballast that can work with either MH or HPS. I’m looking to do some indoor gardening as a hobbie and growing my own veggies or fruit could be quite fun (though I understand there is a lot of work involved).

I’m wondering what, if any, flowers or veggies I could get produce from year around. Even if it meant destroying the old plants and starting over. I just would like something I could get enjoyment out of quite regularly. (considering flowers if produce is out of the question).

I could run my light cycle 16/6 off at it’s longest

What tools do I need to know to start a landscape and gardening design business?

            Monday, September 12th, 2011

Years ago I worked in a amateur way in gardening maintenance. I realice that I liked it a lot but I don’t have the specific knoledge and experience to start a landscape and gardening design business. I have the feeling that I have the creativity for doing this but of course this is not all. Could someone help me telling me the kind of tools that I would require to start this gradually? Maybe I would requiere to know some landscape design software, etc. In short, what kind of tools would be necesary to have and learn. Maybe the thing would be more complex like doing an Business plan? I’ll thank any advice. Chris

What does gardening teach you about yourself?

              Sunday, September 11th, 2011

Or what have you learned about yourself while gardening.
They say gardening is one of the most relaxing past times. Tho it’s a lot of work.
I learn to have patience most of all out of everything. waiting for the garden to be in bloom.

                  Indoor garden?

                  Sunday, September 11th, 2011

I live in an apartment without a patio but I have two E/W facing windows, so I pretty much always have some sunlight.
Are there any relatively small plants(herbs, maybe?) that can be grown indoors, in a small planter, and without a whole lot of light?

Also, having a planter that hangs out of a window isn’t an option because there is a brick "lip" right outside both windows.
