Texas Organic Gardening

This was back in April 2011. Super excited about growing our own food. The weeds that I pointed out and said were Dandelion greens apparently were not, because those grew to be about 6 feet tall. Yeah… I didn’t know any better so I just kept juicing them. They gave me a super buzz. I still don’t know what they were, though. LOL.

It just warms my heart to see young folks getting interested in? gardening.

You might want to identify that weed you’re juicing. I may be wrong, but it looks like wild lettuce (Lactuca virosa ) -? has mild phychotropic effects lol

    3. considereden Says:

@canuckartist Lol- yes,? I’ve long since identified it. It’s prickly lettuce. Makes me crazy energetic, lol.

love your garden…great job. I have some videos also. check out my fall video. I use water bottles and 2 liter bottles to start seeds faster and help protect them. also when you fig tree gets more branches you can cut one off and stick it in water and it will? self root. then just pant it 4 a free tree. take care

    5. considereden Says:

@SteveHarpster I? certainly will! And I had no idea about the fig tree, I will definitely have to look into that. Thanks for your comment. πŸ™‚

Good for you guys. We unfortunately live in a condo so? our growing is limited. We do really well with basil and dill and love being able to pick it fresh and put it on a salad every night πŸ˜‰ c

A good thing to have around your garden is a bird house or bat house to help? with the insects because they are what are getting to you fruits ^_^

    8. considereden Says:

@Christos1680 I definitely don’t want a bird house to attract more birds. It’s actually birds and/or squirrels that got to my fruit. Bugs couldn’t eat all my pears in a matter of days- lol. We have a net on it now… But anyway, we do have a bat house already. πŸ™‚ Don’t think it is inhabited as of yet, but I’m hoping it happens soon. The mosquitoes are killers here. πŸ™‚ Thanks? for the tip!

    12. considereden Says:

@assacoon Yes it was- but we usually let the rain do that for us. It is still breaking down nicely-? and we want to be as hands off as possible. Thanks!

    15. edstar83 Says:

    17. considereden Says:

@incognrod I will check it out, what I’ve come to believe? it is, though, is prickly lettuce… although I don’t know the proper term for it.
