How can I correct my over-fertilized vegetable garden?

Saturday, March 24th, 2012

Thanks to everyone who responded to my first question regarding putting too much organic fertilizer on my vegetable garden before the seeds germinated.
Now what can I do? Are the seeds/soil beyond repair? Thanks.

Is it possible to over-fertilize a vegetable garden?

    Friday, September 17th, 2010

I admit, I didn’t read the packaging and I feel that was a mistake. I spread generous amounts of organic fertilizer over my vegetable garden before the seeds germinated. I’ve noticed plants have sprouted in areas of less-thick fertilizer. I wonder if the other seeds just haven’t come up through the thickness or could the organic fertilizer have killed the seeds.

How do we convert lawn to vegetable garden?

    Friday, August 20th, 2010

We have a section of lawn that we will convert to a herb and vegetable garden. It has grass and weeds. Can we simply rototill the ground, enrich the earth with organic fertilizer and compost? Is it better to remove the sod first?
