How can I correct my over-fertilized vegetable garden?

    Saturday, March 24th, 2012

Thanks to everyone who responded to my first question regarding putting too much organic fertilizer on my vegetable garden before the seeds germinated.
Now what can I do? Are the seeds/soil beyond repair? Thanks.

Easy way to get soil ready for a vegetable garden?

          Sunday, September 4th, 2011

I’ll have a 12′ x 4.5′ garden and need to get the soil ready. Our soil is largely clay. I’ve got compost, sand. mulch, and can get manure (though I think the compost is sufficient). I’ve got a good shovel and a Garden Claw and metal rake and other tools.

Now I need suggestions on how to get the soil ready for the seeds I plan to plant in the next few days. Any procedures or links to easier ways to get the soil ready would be appreciated.

          Thanks.

            Indoor tomatoe garden.?

            Monday, August 22nd, 2011

I planted my seeds in a soiless mixture under an HID and am curious to know the proper temperature to maintain if sprouting the seeds indoors. I may or may not go Hydroponic after the sprouts grow a few inches taller.

Does anyone know of a good website that will cover the basics of starting an indoor vegetable garden. Thanks!

                Indoor garden advice?

                Thursday, August 11th, 2011

I want to grow an indoor garden with my 3 year old daughter. What are some easy plants to grow, veggies, herbs or whatever.. I’d like to grow tomatoes, but I’ve been reading up on it and it looks like quite the process. What’s best for someone starting out (and someone without a green thumb!) I’ve heard of using teabags in the soil to help plants grow. Should I try this? Any other advice?

I’d like to grow everything from seeds, and I’d like to try at least 3 different plants (or more!)

Also, I’m in Ontario, Canada, so there’s lots of sun in the summer, but not so much in the winter, spring and fall.. plus it gets pretty cold by the window I plan on using for sunlight.

                Thanks for reading!! 🙂
Tony, I meant to give you a thumbs up, not a thumbs down! My finger slipped… 🙂 It’s a great answer!

Indoor garden help/Pacific Northwest in January?

                    Saturday, July 30th, 2011

I would like to start an indoor container garden in my apartment and I need some assistance. I live in Oregon and we don’t get much sun light in winter months. I would put the plants in front of the window obviously, and my apartment is about 62f degrees.

Would vegetables grow under these conditions?

Listed below are the types of veggies I want to grow from seeds. Any help with the size of container, or anything at all would be a great help. Ive never gardened anything before, so consider you are talking to an idiot.

                    cherry tomatoes
                    leaf lettuce
                    radishes
                    beans
                    oregano

Any other easy to grow vegetable options or any other tips at all would be awesome. Thank you.
