Will a vegetable garden increase my homes value?

      Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

We’re replacing our decks railing, so I thought it would be nice to use it as a fence around some raised vegetable garden beds. We’re planning on selling the house in 5 years or so, would this be appealing to buyers? A nice vegetable garden? Thanks!

How can I correct my over-fertilized vegetable garden?

        Saturday, March 24th, 2012

Thanks to everyone who responded to my first question regarding putting too much organic fertilizer on my vegetable garden before the seeds germinated.
Now what can I do? Are the seeds/soil beyond repair? Thanks.

          Indoor Container Garden 4

          Thursday, March 1st, 2012

This is video 4 of my experiment growing vegetables indoors. This is after 3 full weeks of growth. The green beans and white onions seem to be doing well. The lettuce and green onions are alive, but maybe not so good. I started a new white onion bulb, 2 green onions, a Rooster Spur pepper plant, and a Cherokee Purple tomato plant. To help save money, I have resorted to using 2 liter soda bottles and milk jugs when the plants can use that size pot. I also got a smaller full spectrum light bulb (27 watt cfl, 100 watt incandescent equivalent) and a hangable lamp. It is not the final solution, but an interim step until I can order a 105 watt, 6500k bulb. See more at www.weirddivide.com

Why would tomatoes and lettuce do poorly in a vegetable garden in a city while peas and beans do well?

            Saturday, February 18th, 2012

A vegetable garden is planted in a vacant lot in a city. Peas and beans do well, but tomatoes and lettuce do poorly. What is the likely problem? How could it be corrected?

My mom planted a vegetable garden over our recently buried dead cat. Is it gross to eat the vegatables?

              Tuesday, February 7th, 2012

Our cat of twenty years died 7 months ago. We buried her approx 2 feet under ground in a cardboard shoe box. My mother planted a vegetable garden (squash, eggplant etc.) 14" away from the grave site. My mom has been serving my brother and I the vegetables every night. Is it gross or wrong to eat them?

What type of vegetable is growing in my garden?

                  Monday, November 21st, 2011

I have a small vegetable garden and planted several types of vegetables however there is a single plant growing (at this point about 14" high), that is unlike any other. I assume it was a random seed that snuck in with a batch of organic heirloom tomatoes since this is where it has sprouted however it is not the same leaf and it is producing beautiful, tiny white flowers with a center of deep purple and yellow anthers. Any ideas???
