Hi, I love your videos! Is there a video on here that shows you taking the onions that you planted in the container and transplanting them to the garden? I live in NY, what would be the best way for me to plant onions. It seems their time to mature is so long. If I start in May after the last frost, when would I be able to harvest? Thank you!

@suelimpert … living down here in Louisiana I wouldn’t have a clue how to grow them in NY. We do have a “Forum” on the web site with members from all over, maybe someone in your area could help…….. Donald

@suelimpert If your season is short then get “onion sets” They are basically baby onion bulbs that were grown and ready to plant and come up. You can use them for green onions or space them out for the big slicing onions. I got started too late so I am using onion sets this year. I got around 80 for $4.

Love the onion videos. I can’t believe the onions got that big in 8-9 weeks. Miracle grow works very good. I have miracle grow soil in my garden which is mixed in to the original soil. I water the plants with fertilizer. I only have two cabbage plants right now because squirrels ate 7 of the cabbage plants and all 6 of the broccoli plants. Those squirrels are pests and tastes great in a gumbo. How do I stop from over fertilization? And do you have any advice on how to keep the squirrels away? I

    25. webcajun Says:

@DippinSonOfALee1865 …from the time you transplant it usually takes about 100 days till harvest. You can trap the squirrels or get a good dog….Donald
